This is one of my very favorite crafts ever.  I gave these coasters with old family photos to my sisters and my husband's family for Christmas and it was a huge hit.  (That is me, the youngest, with my four older sisters in the photo, my husband is pushing the tricycle with his twin brother on it).  They loved the gift, and it is so inexpensive and easy to make.
You will need:

  • Sepia photos (You can also use regular photos.)
  • 4 x 4 inch tile which you can get at Home Depot or Lowes very inexpensively.
  • Decoupage
  • thin cork board (You can get this in large rolls at Home Depot and cut to size or you can find 4 x 4 squares at craft stores.)

To make:

  • Put a coat of decoupage on tile and place photo on tile.  Press to hold and let dry.
  • Coat top of photo and tile with another two or three coats of decoupage, letting it dry in between coats.
  • Glue square piece of cork board to back of coaster.

Give as a gift or serve with a cold beverage!!
